About

In a previous life, I owned a 1993 C4 Corvette. I loved that car – it was an immaculate black over silvery grey, and had just shy of 18,000 original miles on the clock when I purchased it. The pop-up headlights flipped 180 degrees (which never got old, given you could do it with the clamshell hood popped up), the center console had slots for cassette tapes, and the Targa top being translucent made it feel like you were in Bladerunner during a rainy night. Combined with a slew of old-man tendencies and a mean pair of New Balances, my C4 Corvette earned me the affectionate nickname of “Dad” among my compatriots in Atlanta.

Ultimately, that car went the way of the dodo – it was replaced by my 1978 Datsun 280Z – but I have never forgotten about it, and I still love Corvettes dearly (I dare you, almost beg you, to ask me Stingray trivia). Imagine my pleasure when I learned that Radwood, an event tailor-made for the C4, was coming to the Port of Los Angeles! If you aren’t familiar, Radwood is a car show that tours the country and is dedicated to celebrating automotive culture from the ’80s and ’90s. If you are a car enthusiast whose bread is buttered with vehicles from these decades, then Radwood is the place to be. NSXs, Corvettes, Vipers, Testarossas… the list is endless. If you were unable to attend but wanted to, fear not – I took a few photos to commemorate the occasion.

Some Bell & Ross for you. The brand was actually founded in the ’90s, which makes this a thematically sly pick.
My partner Sarah looking absolutely fly with her RedBar x Nodus Sector GMT.
Like father, like son. These two have good taste, sporting a very green Rolex-Omega combo.
A ’90s watch for an ’80s-’90s event. It just felt right (then again, the 16710 feels right every day).

This gentleman’s outfit was a whole vibe. Peep that gold Casio Databank calculator watch.

The Seiko ‘Baby Grand Seiko’ SARB035.
Check out this original Seiko ‘Arnie’ from 1984. We love us some ana-digi around here at CSH.
I’m just going to leave this right here.
A MoonSwatch ‘Mission to Saturn’ with some proper battle scars on the crystal.

These Swatch ‘Pop’ watches are positively rad. It’s all in the name.

Always need to have a G-Shock in the mix.
It was a properly sunny day, so it makes sense for at least one Eco-Drive to make an appearance.
