I know, I know, Count Sunny Hours is your favorite site for sarcastic banter and the occasional useful tidbit about watches. My typical weapon to provide those tidbits is the pen, which affords flexibility but leaves out a whole host of other media to consume. Surprise: this is changing shortly.

I love writing. It is one of my life’s greatest joys; I find the creative process of weaving a coherent article highly cathartic. You may feel otherwise about just how coherent they are, but luckily I’m the only one with a microphone here and so we’ll treat my claim as factual for now.

Writing is the most traditional forms of media in which information is consumed today, but not the most important one. In fact, you could argue with almost complete certainty that it is a tertiary vehicle when compared to podcasts or video (I’m looking at you, Spotify and YouTube).

Here at CSH, I’m a man who likes to wax unpoetically via keyboard. I type things, delete them, and re-type again until I am marginally satisfied with the end product. I barely have enough time to execute this alarmingly inefficient process, and so for the longest time non-text based mediums have been out of reach. Fortunately for you and I, that is about to change. Yes, that’s right: Count Sunny Hours is launching a podcast!

I know, I know. Horrifying.

Those close to me know I have been tossing this idea around for a hot minute. The day has finally arrived to add the sultry, dulcet radio tones of my voice to the chorus of other thirty-something white dudes who also think they’ve somehow found a unique proposition in talking into a microphone on the internet.

Brass tacks: we’ll be sharing thoughts on watches, cars, motorcycles, and everything in-between at least one to two times per month (likely hosted via the usual suspects such as Spotify, Apple Podcasts, etc.). The crux of our discussions will typically be time keepers, but it will be a diverse podcast in the context of what I have just mentioned above. We’ll aim to bring an equally diverse cast of cats on as rotating guests as well, all of whom will tie into these topics. Trust me when I say it’s going to be a good time.

You may have noticed that I said “we” will be sharing this podcast, not “I.” My talent (dubious a word as that may be) lies in the creative side of this arena, not the technical side. In recognition of such a need, I have enlisted the help of fellow watch / car / motorcycle nerd David Macdonald. David has graciously offered his audio and video editing skills in order to make this project a reality, and he’ll be CSH’s established, indispensable podcast co-host for the foreseeable future.

No further delays on the introduction: I’m exiting stage left and hopping into that front row seat next to you. David, the floor is yours.

About David

David Macdonald here at your service! I am the podcast editor, co-host, and general assistant to Mr. Moore here at Count Sunny Hours. I spend my days editing advertisements (in video form) that you’ll inevitably skip when that precious “skip” button appears on YouTube, listening to the Home Depot song over and over and over again, and making many lattes at home to keep me sane.

Watches to me are a work of engineering and art, sometimes feeling like the most important and identifying accessory that you can wear. They combine what I love about cars, but with much finer details. Join me and Drake as we continue to discover what makes us tick.

There he is, folks. Just look at him. I’m very excited to have David aboard and we can’t wait to share all sorts of incredible content with you together.

From the guys you’ve never heard of, working on that thing that you never knew about – Counting Sunny Hours, the podcast. See you soon.
